Dr. Uju
Born in Nigeria, Dr. Uju moved to New York City at a young age and spent the remainder of her childhood in Harlem. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree at Rutgers University School of Dental Medicine (formerly the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – UMDNJ).
Dr. Uju’s desire to help patients preserve their teeth and smiles inspired her to become an endodontist. She gained acceptance into the University of Pennsylvania’s prestigious residency program, where she earned her Certificate in Endodontics. In 2016, she became a Board-Certified Endodontist, having successfully completed necessary case work to achieve that distinction. Certification by the American Board of Endodontics is considered the ultimate clinical credential, and only the top 20 percent of all specialists are awarded with this accolade.
After serving as the lead endodontist and primary clinician at multiple private practices near Albany, New York, Dr. Uju launched Total Care Endodontics & Microsurgery in South Orange, New Jersey, which she owned and operated. During this time, she also worked with an amazing team in a group specialty practice in New York City.
In 2020, Dr. Uju, her husband and toddler son excitedly relocated to South Florida, an area they had long considered to be a second home and at the end of 2022, they welcomed their baby girl.
Dr. Uju is an avid supporter of organized dentistry and holds active membership in the following organizations: American Association of Endodontists (AAE), American Dental Association (ADA), and the National Dental Association (NDA). When not practicing endodontics, Dr. Uju’s personal passions include sports, fitness, traveling and African performance arts. Dr. Uju is always ready for life’s next big adventure and approaches every day with an infectious enthusiasm.
